The LCHA was founded in 1973. It is the second oldest youth hockey association in Michigan. The LCHA is a non-profit organization that is owned by the membership. The LCHA was founded to encourage and improve the standard of ice hockey and other ice activities in the greater Livingston County area.

The LCHA is governed by a board of directors. The board of directors consist of the president, vice president/executive director, secretary/registrar, treasurer and trustees. Board members are elected to serve a three year term.

The vice president/executive director is an employee of the LCHA and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the association and the arena. The secretary/registrar is hired by the vice president/executive director and also serves as office manager.

The LCHA owns and operates Grand Oak Arena. Grand Oaks Arena is the only association rink in the state of Michigan. Grand Oaks Arena was built in its current location in 1982.

If you are interested in serving on the LCHA board of directors, candidate applications must be submitted to the vice president/executive director by the last Friday in February. Elections are held annually in March.
