2018 Spring Learn to Skate & Learn to Play Program, and Learn the Game
2018 Spring Learn to Skate & Learn to Play Program, and Learn the Game Registration Form

LEARN TO SKATE:
We will have Trent Daavettila running our program this season along with figure skaters on Saturday morning. The main focus is to develop the kids, and to simply have FUN while developing the skill set of our skaters. Little Bolts will focus on skating skills, with professional instruction from Trent Daavettila and LCHA coaches.

LEARN TO PLAY:
This program is for our graduating class from Lightning Bolts. This program is designed to introduce the game of Hockey. Stick handling, hockey drills, etc., will be the focus of this class. Your children will learn the basics of the game, and have fun! We are planning on having four teams this season. The teams will play half ice games with league member teams. LCHA has used this format with great success. The players have developed at an accelerated rate compared to full ice Mini Mite program, used in past years.

LEARN THE GAME:
This program is with the advanced skaters and the next step up from Learn to Play. This program is designed to further develop the kids skating, puck handling, and hockey skills. The kids will perform drills and small area games. They will learn to adapt to in-game situations by competing in various small area games. The players at this level will be divided in two teams.

Bottom line is, if you can skate, you can play. Skaters with strong skill sets will play hockey for the rest of their lives. Hockey is a great sport, and with the right start it is a game that people play for a very long time. We strongly urge you to read the information for USA hockey.

Your kid will be placed in the program that is best suited for them. The purpose of the program is to put the kids in a situation that is best for their development. Returning players may reach out to Trent Daavettila and he will help advise you on the correct program for your kid. New players will be placed in the Learn to Skate / Play and be evaluated over the course of the first few weeks to determine the best program for them.
